In the last months Undestand has been presented in several events at the national and international level.

 

The Second Project Conference "Learning from benchmarking to make i2010! a reality in the regions: data analysis , impacts on ICT policies, emerging needs" will take place on the 30th March 2006, at the Committee of the Regions of the European Union (101 rue Belliard - Brussels - Room BEL 52).

 

Understand Partners are going to meet in Bologna to review data collected through 2005 surveys.

 

After the UNDERSTAND Steering Committee decision to treat as full partners joining Regions, Apulia and Tuscany (IT Regions) have carried out the second round of Understand surveys.

 

Understand partners carried out the second round of surveys from October 2005 to December 2005.

 

Understand partners signed-off the updated UNDERSTAND HANDBOOK during their last meeting in Palma de Mallorca (July the 7th – 8th).

 

From march 2005, joining Regions are involved in the project as full partners: they are now actively engaged in the handbook revision and will carry out surveys together with Understand partners.

 

Understand Project described in the latest issue of a regional newsletter in Aquitaine dedicated to R&D.

 

The First Project Conference will be the Seminar "Regional Benchmarking of the Information Society and the UNDERSTAND operation: initial results, lessons learnt and open issues" and will take place on 17th March 2005, at the Committee of the Regions of the European Union (92/102 rue Montoyer - Brussels)

 

Partner regions has defined the first regional benchmarking toolkit, the first draft definition of common methdology and indicators on each of the four domains. Non partner regions can soon download and validate a lite version of the methodology handbook, with indicators on each domain.

After the definition of indicators on four domains, of multilingual questionnaires and of a detailed methodology to collect data, Partners are now surveyng their own Region to point out the level of development of information society.

 

Partner regions have defined the first regional benchmarking toolkit, the first draft definition of common methdology and indicators on each of the four domains.

 

Partners met in Alicante to define the definitive first version of the Benchmarking tool-kit.

 

During the Workshop "Learning from benchmarking" many different experiences on benchmarking presented their successful outputs together with their difficulties and threats.

 

During Bordeaux meeting, ISEU introduced work on Component 2 - definition of indicators. The target is to produce by June 30th a review of existing indicators and a draft benchmarking toolkit, including the description on priority indicators, the methodology for data collection, the implications of these indicators.

 

The website is consistent with Interreg publicity rules, dynamic and cms-based
open source, php, sql db, apache server, usability & accessibility compliant.

 

Partners' first meeting took place in Berlin, 8th March 2004.

 

On May, the 25th partners met in Bordeaux to define the list of priority indicators on each domain. The objective is to produce by June 30th a review of existing indicators and a draft benchmarking toolkit, including the description on priority indicators, the methodology for data collection, the implications of these indicators.

 

Partners will meet in Spain on Monday 19/ Tuesday 20th of July.
